What I Do

Wouldn't it be nice to come home to a tired, clean, happy dog? Yes, it is possible:) While you’re at work, your dog will be running through puddles, launching over logs with a pack getting dirty. You know a dirty dog is a happy dog:) After our fantastic adventure all tuckered out, with big smiles on their tired faces. They come home to crash with their favorite blanket, sleeping soundly at your feet all night, dreaming of their next dirty dog adventure to come.
Our adventures take action at Burke Mountain, and Buntzen Lake. Monday through Friday rain or shine :)
Maybe your dog doesn't like other dogs so much, or maybe they are terrified of large breeds. No worries, I can bring them back to their roots. I’ll get them running again with a pack of best friends. Every dog is still a dog, and when they are with a pack the stress having to take care of everything is relieved. I'm their Pack Leader and the only thing I ask of them is to have fun and respect my wishes. Ask me about rehabilitation for your fellow best friend. I will find a good package that suits your specific needs. Dogs are similar to people in a way, we pick and choose our friends but we still gotta be nice to all those strangers. Life is easier and less stressful when we play nice:)

About Me

What’s that you say “Who am I?”
Well to put it shortly I’m a Mompreneur:)
My love for animals started young. My mother would hate it when I would bring home every stray cat and dog in the neighborhood. She would see me coming down the street on my bike with my new friend, riding in the basket with a big smile on its face. Who wouldn't be smiling after all those treats I bribed it with:)
I started volunteering at the Maple Ridge SPCA in 2006 walking dogs in the evening. After about a year when the new shelter opened up I became a coordinator for the Friday night dog walkers. I would match the volunteer with their dog for the evening and away we went. I would of course take the biggest and the baddest one just because that’s me. Some of the dogs that came to the SPCA were in horrible shape. The nails would be so long that after a walk they would be limping, not to mention how badly they were matted and dirty. So I started cutting nails, bathing and shaving the dogs. I noticed right away that the dogs would be so happy after a good walk and wash, the adoption rate increased as well. I decided to take a grooming course so I could give them a cute haircut, not just a shave down. I also took a Pet 1st Aid course if anything were to happen on our walks I could help and not feel like there was nothing I could do. We couldn't walk more than one dog at a time per person, but we would always stick together as a pack it was safer and the dogs got to see each other and play a bit.
Some people say dogs just naturally like me. I have always had a no fear complex to most situations, if you stay calm, cool and collective things tend to work themselves out. Some of my friend’s and clients dogs get more excited when I show up at their door, then they do for them. I think it’s because I smell like dog most of the time.
After a few years I decided it would be nice to get paid for working with dogs. I started working in a dog Daycare/Hikes/Grooming/Boarding facility in Burnaby. I loved working in the outdoors, hiking a pack of dogs in the woods rain or shine put big smiles on my face. Even on a bad day where the dogs weren't listening or not getting along, I would get home look back on my day and say, ya I could do this again tomorrow. Dogs live in the moment, so when you work with dogs you live in the moment too. After a year I fell in love with the mountain adventure hikes, so I started out on my own. With 13 years of experience and such a huge passion for my work, it can only get better from here.
The perfect day for me is drinking my morning coffee in my truck, heading out to the mountain with a camera in hand, and a pack of dogs on my heal.
Life is good:)
